Big Hearts, Bright Futures Campaign

Houston is growing at a rapid pace. For the past several years, DePelchin has been challenged by a shortage of space capacity for two crucial initiatives for the thousands of children and families we serve annually:
  • Provision of essential items for children and families in need.

  • Trauma-informed skills training and education for foster and adoptive families, as well as for families throughout Houston who need mental health and parenting support.
DePelchin is launching the construction of a new, modern, volunteer services and training facility that will meet current and future community demand for many years. The total budget for the project is $8,025,875, and the Junior League of Houston has provided a generous seed grant of $2 million as its Centennial Gift to the community. Scheduled to open in June 2025, the new facility will provide a welcoming center of operations for the more than 500 volunteers who support our mission. It will quadruple our space for managing donated items for children and families and double our classroom and conference space for mental health support, foster family training, and family strengthening services. Investments in this project will benefit the vulnerable children we serve – and all of Greater Houston – for decades to come. We invite you to join us in creating this exciting resource for our community.
