Neither birds, nor planes, nor Superman were spotted at DePelchin’s spring luncheon, just 500+ Houstonians ready to save the day for DePelchin kids and families. Held on April 22 at River Oaks Country Club, the sold-out luncheon, themed “Houston Heroes,” celebrated honoree Nancy Gordon and raised more than $300,000 toward DePelchin’s mental health services.

Event highlights included a riveting presentation on the brain and childhood development by keynote speaker Dr. Peter Jensen, president and CEO of the REACH Institute, as well as the unveiling of DePelchin’s “Heal Young Minds” campaign, which officially launched in May.

The luncheon also saw another memorable moment with the presentation of a check by the AdvoCare Texas Bowl to DePelchin for more than $105,000 – the largest gift ever received from the bowl game. During its eight-year history with DePelchin, the AdvoCare Texas Bowl has donated more than $700,000 in charitable proceeds to DePelchin.

DePelchin wishes to thank all of the underwriters, donors and volunteers whose heroic support made the 2014 luncheon a soaring success!
