Kinship Foster Care
Individuals who accept into their care the child of another family member or friend play the important role of kinship caregivers. Kinship caregivers provide a way for children to stay connected with their biological family even when they cannot live with their birth parents.
At DePelchin, we are committed to helping kinship caregivers provide the best care for their families. One way we do this is by guiding kinship caregivers along the path to becoming a kinship foster family. As a kinship foster family, kinship caregivers will qualify to receive the financial support they need to care for the children in their home. View our FAQs specific to kinship foster care.
To become a kinship foster family, kinship caregivers should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be in good physical health
- Pass a criminal background check
- Be able to financially provide for a child
