Sucked In: Responding to Generation Next on Technology

Everyone knows someone who can’t seem to give up his or her screens.  From Candy Crush to checking email, a growing number of people are addicted to the Internet and all it offers.  As evidence of this movement, the new DSM-V proposes criteria for Internet Gaming Disorder.  This course will review current devices, the latest trends (social networking, trolling, pornography, sexting) and laws, use guidelines by age, restrictions and firewalls.  Treatment suggestions will include clinical assessment, common modes of therapy and timely resources.
