Advanced Play Therapy: Working Within the Metaphor

This workshop is for intermediate and advanced level play therapist. Participants will take a closer look at how to use metaphors in the play therapy process.   They will learn to look closely at what metaphors children offer and how to use the metaphor to take the child in a therapeutic direction.  In this 6 hour interactive workshop participants will learn through lecture, video and small group exercises. 

PLEASE NOTE:  This is a 6 hour presentation

Objectives: Learn strategies to use when feeling “stuck” in non-directive play therapy. Learn to look more closely to see hidden metaphors. Learn how to move between directive and non-directive play therapy given the metaphors the child offers. Learn to create a metaphor for a specific child.
