Play Therapy - Group and Family Play Therapy
Children often learn many coping skills by practicing in a group setting. This class will provide participants the opportunity to discover ways to incorporate group therapy skills into Play Therapy sessions. Likewise, emotional healing of families may also be facilitated by Family Play Therapy, using similar techniques. Opportunities will be available for participants to practice skills related to these aspects of Play Therapy.
At the conclusion of this class participants will be able to demonstrate by participation in small group participation and large group discussion an understanding of the following:
- The rationale for incorporating group therapy techniques with Play Therapy
- The value of family members participating in Play Therapy to facilitate familial emotional healing
- Many techniques applicable to both groups and families in Play Therapy
