Motivational Interviewing (MI): Preparing Clients for Change

Dr. Bukstein will review both the rationale and techniques for conducting Motivational Interviewing (MI), an evidenced-based intervention for resolving ambivalence to change. Presentation will involve a combination of didactics, discussion, and exercises

Learning Goals:

 1)      Participants will be able to identify the spirit and principles of MI  

 2)      Participants will be able to use OARS and other MI techniques.

 3)      Participants will be able to develop a change plan for clients

10 CE/PD Hours for LPC, LMFT, Social Workers, Teachers and Psychologists.
