Bibliotherapy in Play Therapy and Ethical Play Therapy

The first half of the class will focus on the use of children’s books as an adjunct to Play Therapy.  There will be opportunities for participants to read short books that they select from those provided and share with their peers how these might be applied in Play Therapy.

The importance of maintaining a high ethical standard will be discussed as it relates to Play Therapy

The class will conclude with a Play Therapy demonstration, followed by an opportunity for participants to practice Play Therapy skills that they have learned thus far.  This will be accomplished through small group role plays of the Play Therapist and child.  The instructor will give feedback.


At the conclusion of this class participants will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  1. The inclusion of Bibliotherapy in the Play Therapy process as demonstrated through large group discussion
  2. Ethical standards that are essential in Play Therapy as demonstrated through large group discussion
  3. Personal growth in Play Therapy skills as observed by the instructor
