Community-Based Counseling

DePelchin offers free individual and family therapy, parenting support and referral assistance through its Community-Based Counseling Program.

Families in crisis need immediate help.  Crises often involve a breakdown in family relationships and come in various forms: a child running away or problems at school. DePelchin helps families work through issues through its Community-Based Counseling Program. This free program, in partnership with UT Physicians, offers office-based counseling services for children and families to address a range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • behavioral problems
  • school problems
  • low self-esteem
  • harming self or others
  • family conflict
  • loss and grief
  • depression and anxiety

Community-Based Counseling Locations

There are four convenient locations throughout the Greater Houston area:

  • Northwest Houston
  • Northeast Houston
  • Southwest Houston
  • Southeast Houston


A family must live in Harris County and have a youth, age 18 or younger, to qualify for community-based counseling.

Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

DePelchin also offers bilingual Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, a short-term, specialized behavior management program for young children experiencing behavioral and/or emotional difficulties. Learn more about PCIT to find out if it's the right fit for your family.
