Sheiman, Nancy Speare 's Bio
Nancy Speare Sheiman is a licensed clinical social worker at DePelchin Children’s Center. A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Ms. Sheiman has been in practice for more than 30 years and believes that building a strong relationship at the beginning is essential to her therapy work with clients. Ms. Sheiman specializes in children under the age of 12 struggling with a variety of diagnosis, including ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and developmental disabilities. In addition to her experience leading support and skill building groups, Ms. Sheiman is trained in parent-child interaction therapy, child centered play therapy and trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Ms. Sheiman received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Brandeis University and Masters in Social Work from Boston University and is a member of a number of organizations, including National Association of Social Workers, Texas Association for Play Therapy, National Alliance of Mental Illness. Ms. Sheiman also has a lifelong involvement with persons on the Autism Spectrum and their families and is a lifetime member of the Autism Society.
