HOUSTON (November 22, 2015) – Event Chairs Lindley and Jason Arnoldy and Valerie and Tracy Dieterich, Honorary Event Chairs Kathleen and James Jennings and Audrey and Brandon Cochran and Founding Chairs Abbi and Rob Antablin and Hannah and Cal McNair were cheering the results of over $375,000 raised at Saturday Night Lights benefiting DePelchin Children’s Center. The new venue for the event, the Houston Methodist Training Center/Texans Practice Bubble had the crowd of 450 buzzing as they played games, including laser tag, tried to kick a field goal and bought wines at the wine pull. Jamey Rootes, President of the Houston Texans, and his wife Melissa were applauded for their strong advocacy for kids and passion about making Houston a great place for all families. Gail and Willie Richardson were presented with DePelchin’s first-ever Foster Parents of the Year award presented by the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl. The Richardsons have been foster parents with DePelchin since 2007, fostering more than 50 children, including medically-fragile children and those with special needs like autism.
Jeans and bling mixed well for Saturday night fun across the practice field. DJ Senega spun the tunes to keep the dance floor packed. Raffle tickets were hot sellers for the jewelry items donated by I. W. Marks Jewelers. The emcees for the night were Chester Pitts and Devi Dev. The live auction items had bids flying as guests vied for a Roatan, Honduras Vacation, a trip to Park City, Utah and the most unique of all Texans Road Game Experience.
President and CEO Jenifer Jarriel also thanked guests for their generosity and applauded the successful efforts to help DePelchin turn lives around for children and their families. She discussed the impact this Houston-based nonprofit makes as the area’s largest provider of children’s mental health, foster care and adoption services.
