Alice Payne, LPC-S, RPT-S |

For thirteen years, Alice Payne, has served DePelchin as a licensed professional counselor. Ms. Payne, who works at DePelchin’s Fort Bend County Center, strives to help children and families reach their goals and achieve the change they desire. “I do my best to meet the client where they are,” she says, “They hold the answers but sometimes need guidance to get where they want to be.” Specializing in play therapy and anger management, Ms. Payne enjoys helping families make positive choices, which in turn, enhances their lives. Prior to working with DePelchin, Ms. Payne was a child educator for four years with the ESCAPE Family Resource Center, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect in vulnerable families. A native Houstonian, Ms. Payne earned a Master of Art Degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University in 1998. She is an approved LPC supervisor as well as a Registered Play Therapist. In her free time, Ms. Payne enjoys art and spending time with her family.

Carolyn K. Fitzgerald, LPC |

| Carolyn Fitzgerald, a licensed professional counselor with DePelchin for more than four years, specializes in the behavioral and mood issues of children and adolescents, as well as family issues, trauma resolution and divorce issues. A native and fourth generation Houstonian, Ms. Fitzgerald earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and her Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. As a counselor at the agency’s Clear Lake Center, she strives to help children, adolescents and their families resolve identified problem areas, improve communication within the family and help parents’ efforts to support and nurture their children. She cites her greatest reward as helping children and teens grow toward becoming insightful adults with healthy self-esteem. “I care about and am interested in people and how they function in the face of and cope with challenges.”
Ms. Fitzgerald is a member of the American Counseling Association, the Texas Counseling Association and the Bay Area Network of Mental Health Providers. In her spare time, she enjoys the performing arts, needlework, participating in a book club and spending time with her son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren.

Cindy Schaefer, LCDC, LMFT |

When she was just 11 years old, Cindy Schaefer made a commitment to herself to devote her life and career to helping children and families. That commitment resulted in a 30-year career in the mental health field, nine of which have been spent working as a therapist at DePelchin Children’s Center’s main campus. Ms. Schaefer, a licensed chemical dependency counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist, works with children, ages 9 and older, adolescents and adults. Her areas of expertise include family therapy, marital therapy, substance abuse treatment, and adolescent and adult issues. Her approaches include cognitive and systemic therapy to help clients overcome multiple challenges and improve their lives. “I find the psychology of humans to be a science and a challenge to explore, and to have the opportunity of making a lifetime of difference in a family is immensely rewarding."
Ms. Schaefer, who was born in Connecticut and raised in Houston, earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in sociology and psychology from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master of Arts Degree in counseling psychology from Texas Woman’s University. She is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. In her free time, Ms. Schaefer enjoys reading, music, nature and current events.

Gloria High, LPC |

| Gloria High, a licensed professional counselor at DePelchin’s Montgomery County Center in The Woodlands, specializes in helping children, adolescents and families with a wide range of issues, including grief and loss; depression; anxiety disorder; family conflict; sexual and physical abuse and trauma; and life transition and adjustment issues, including divorce and adoption. Ms. High as been employed with DePelchin for 10 years and has been a practicing counselor in the Houston area for 20 years. She holds a Master of Education Degree in counseling and is approved by the Texas State Board as a supervisor for licensed professional counselor-interns. She also conducts numerous workshops and seminars on topics related to women, families and parenting. Ms. High describes her therapy style as eclectic and utilizes behavioral and family system approaches to therapy. “My primary goal in therapy is to help an individual or families heal and develop healthy relationships with themselves and others,” she says. “I have a strong interest in helping people become empowered to lead balanced, productive lives.”
As a graduate student at Delta State University in 1984, Ms. High received The Ann Whittle Award for Outstanding Counseling Student. In 2004, she was a recipient of DePelchin Children’s Center ABCD (Above and Beyond the Call of Duty) Award. She is originally from Petersburg, Virginia, and worked in Mississippi before moving in 1986 to Spring, Texas. A widow with four adult children, Ms. High enjoys singing and belongs to a women’s vocal group.

James E. Myers, LPC |

James Myers, a licensed professional counselor for more than 13 years, offers children, adolescents and their families assistance with a variety of issues, including behavioral problems, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and depression. When working with individuals and families, Mr. Myers utilizes a cognitive-behavioral therapy style with the ultimate goal of increasing the functionality of both the child and the family. “I became a therapist to offer assistance to those are struggling with the challenges of life,” he says. “My greatest reward is when clients see improvement in their lives and are better able to address their challenges.”
Mr. Myers, who holds a Masters of Arts Degree, is originally from Shreveport Louisiana. His interests include sports, religious education, and spending time with family and friends, including his wife, two daughters and grandson.

M. Susie Donato, LMFT, LPC |

| M. Susie Donato is a licensed marriage and family therapist and a licensed professional counselor at DePelchin’s main campus. In practice for eight years, Ms. Donato specializes in parent-child conflict; trauma resolution; depression; blended, single parent and divorcing families; play therapy with younger children; and couples and family therapy. She compassionately and respectfully works to build on clients’ strengths using behavioral, cognitive, art and play therapy techniques to assist children and families in creating spaces within their lives to become focused, to make positive changes and to heal. “My goals are to build trust, develop empathy and create a safe environment for clients, as these are the building blocks of successful resolution of their challenges and issues.”
Ms. Donato holds Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Family Therapy Degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She completed her internship training at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where she also practiced for a year. She is a member of the Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (American, Texas and Houston chapters). Her interests include gardening, growing African violets, collecting pottery, fiction reading, music and nature. Ms. Donato has been married for 19 years and is the parent of two adults daughters and two adult stepsons.

Margaret Greene, LCSW, LMFT |

| Margaret Greene, a practicing therapist at DePelchin for 20 years, specializes in family therapy and works primarily with ten to 18-year-olds and their families. Ms. Greene is a licensed clinical social worker and licensed marriage and family therapist in Texas and also holds a Certification of Qualification in Social Work in Great Britain, where she resided for five years. Her primary goals when working with children and families are to strengthen families and enhance the social and emotional functioning of all family members. "My greatest reward in my work is seeing people grow, change and learn that they choices," she says. "I enjoy working with people. Therapeutic work can be very creative."
Ms. Greene, who is originally from New Haven, Connecticut, earned her Master of Science, Social Policy and Social Work Studies from the University of London, London School of Economics. She completed a fellowship in family therapy at Houston Children Guidance Center. She is a member of the National Association of Social Work, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, and the Texas Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. Ms. Greene served in the U.S. Peace Corps and lived for a total of 16 years in Honduras, Chile, Venezuela, Brazil and England. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, four children, two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law and four grandchildren. Ms. Greene also enjoys traveling, crossword puzzles, opera and cooking.

Megan Mooney, Ph.D. |

Dr. Megan Mooney, a licensed psychologist at DePelchin’s main campus, specializes in helping children and families who have experienced trauma. Through therapy, she helps them cope with and overcome the emotional and relational challenges trauma often causes. Her goal for families is simple: “I want to help them understand and work through their problems,” she says, “so they can enjoy life again.” Dr. Mooney, who has been at DePelchin for seven years, also trains area teachers and community leaders on working with students touched by trauma. In addition, Dr. Mooney treats a variety of behavioral and emotional problems in children and teens. She also provides a wide range of assessments to evaluate children for conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia and other learning difficulties, and behavioral and emotional problems.
Dr. Mooney holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and serves as an adjunct assistant professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and painting.

Roosevelt Stacy, LMFT, MSW |

Roosevelt Stacy became a therapist so that he could assist families in gaining the family life each member desires. To help them accomplish this, Mr. Stacy provides support, guidance and education to help facilitate healing and desired changes within the family unit. His areas of expertise include parent-child relationships; separation and loss; blended families; domestic violence, sexual abuse treatment; sexual identity issues; collaborative systems approach; and treatment for mood disorders, including bipolar disorder, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. Mr. Stacy has been in practice for 10 years, the last three of which have been at DePelchin’s main campus. Utilizing solution focused, strategic, structural and Bowenian family therapy approaches, Mr. Stacy works primarily with children, ages 2 to 18, couples and families. “My greatest reward comes when families no longer need my assistance because they have achieved the family life they’ve sought,” he says.
Mr. Stacy is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan with a Master of Social Work in 1996 and in 2001 earned his Graduate Certificate in social work practice with families and couples. He is a licensed marriage and family therapist and recently earned certification as an approved supervisor by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists. In his spare time, Mr. Stacy enjoys music, movies and watching the soap opera, General Hospital.

Rose Marie Moran, LPC |

Rose Marie Moran, a licensed professional counselor for 16 years, specializes in play therapy and behavior modification in her work with children, ages 3-12, at DePelchin’s main campus. A former school teacher and principal, Ms. Moran strives to provide an environment for her clients that encourages family members to identify issues and generate effective coping skills. She is also sensitive to religious issues in the Christian tradition. “I appreciate being around people who are trying to do something positive about issues,” she says. “It is very rewarding to see someone feeling good about a change they have made in their lives.”
Ms. Moran earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of New Rochelle and Master of Arts Degrees from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. A native of Decatur, Illinois, Ms. Moran grew up in a very large mid-western family. She has 26 nieces and nephews, as well as many grand nieces and nephews.
