Play Therapy - Practical Applications of Play Therapy III and Dealing with Difficult Situations

This class will be the third and final opportunities for participants to practice Play Therapy skills with child volunteers.  The instructor and peers will provide each participant observation and feedback.

Often difficult questions and situations arise in Play Therapy sessions.  This portion of the class will give participants an opportunity to share experiences that they may have had in this area.  Feedback from instructors and peers will give the participants a “tool box” to use as these situations arise in Play Therapy sessions.

 Objectives:

At the conclusion of this class the participants will be able to demonstrate through large group discussion an understanding of:

  1. The importance of continued peer consultation and supervision while developing and growing in Play Therapy skills
  2. Difficult situations that might occur during Play Therapy sessions and  the importance of anticipating them
  3. Skills to use to address difficult situations that might occur during Play Therapy sessions
