Youth Summit: Meeting Our Youth Where They Are!

Please join Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mu Kappa Omega Chapter in partnership with the Department of Family Protective Services and DePelchin Children’s Center for our 3rd Youth Aging out of Foster Care Program - "Youth Summit: Meeting Our Youth Where They Are."  The Aging Out of Foster Care Forum is targeted for youth, ages 15-19, who are aging out of foster care.  

This event will be held at DePelchin Children’s Center on October 4, 2014, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Registration and a Continental Breakfast will begin at 8:30 am.  Youth will have an opportunity to receive information and engage in conversations about Financial Literacy, Medication Awareness, and The Impact of Social Media along with a candid conversation with "Alumni Youth" who have aged out of foster care. After the program, the youth will be engaged in a career fair and will have the opportunity to gain information on different careers and different collegiate or technical school paths.
