2014 Inaugural DePelchin Trauma-Informed Care Conference: Transforming Child Welfare and Children's Lives
In recognition of the importance of providing trauma-informed care to children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and other forms of trauma, DePelchin Children's Center is hosting its first annual conference on trauma-informed care in 2014. This first conference is scheduled for September 11-12, 2014, and will focus on trauma-informed care within child welfare systems. The first day of the conference will include discussions on trauma-informed care from the perspective of state and national child welfare agencies as well as from the perspective of private providers of child welfare services.
The second day of the conference will focus on trauma-informed services from the perspective of individual clients and the clinicians who work with them to promote improved outcomes. The target audience for this conference includes leaders from state and national child welfare organizations as well as leaders and clinicians from organizations that provide child welfare services.
This conference will be held at DePelchin’s Conference Center, located at 4950 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77007. The conference will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, September 12. Lunches and light refreshments will be provided.
