Megan Mooney, Ph.D.

Dr. Megan Mooney, a licensed psychologist at DePelchin’s main campus, specializes in helping children and families who have experienced trauma. Through therapy, she helps them cope with and overcome the emotional and relational challenges trauma often causes. Her goal for families is simple: “I want to help them understand and work through their problems,” she says, “so they can enjoy life again.” Dr. Mooney, who has been at DePelchin for seven years, also trains area teachers and community leaders on working with students touched by trauma. In addition, Dr. Mooney treats a variety of behavioral and emotional problems in children and teens. She also provides a wide range of assessments to evaluate children for conditions such as ADHD, dyslexia and other learning difficulties, and behavioral and emotional problems.

Dr. Mooney holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and serves as an adjunct assistant professor for the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Baylor College of Medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, gardening, cooking, and painting.
