Family Talks
Family Talks provides educational and support groups for parents and siblings. Identified clients will participate in the Social Thinking Academy that provides skills to help the client learn to “see from another’s perspective." Information will be shared with parents in order that they may help practice social thinking skills at home and school.
The goal for the sibling group is to provide support and information to siblings in order to help them understand their brother or sister. The most important function of the sibling group, however, is to let them know they are not alone and there is help for them and a place for them to talk about their feelings.
Parent and Sibling Support Groups
These groups meet once a month on the same day as the Social Thinking Academy. Clinicians will include licensed professional counselors, licensed marriage & family therapists, and psychology doctoral interns.
